Where: Birmingham, Alabama

When: July 7-14, 2012

How much?: Most of the trip will be fundraised but a $200.00 non-refundable deposit is due by March 15, 2012 to reserve your early registration. The deposit after March 15, 2012 is $250.00.

About: Group Mission Trips are based out of Loveland, Colorado.  Each year they choose about 40 different sites around the country to serve about 60 homes each.  400 students from all over the country will register for each camp and will meet there over the summer. 

Group does everything.  They provide the meals, materials, leaders, speakers, music, dramas, bible study curriculum and more.  This is significant so youth leaders can spend time in the Word themselves (and not focus on food or planning), and they can spend time with their students. 

The people we go to serve are often times handicapped, or in their later years.  Some are financially incapable of doing the projects themselves, and some are not physically able.  Regardless, we serve them.  Projects range from remodels, decking, wheelchair ramps, painting, roofing, cleanup as well as evangelism.  Some of the people we serve have never encountered Jesus Christ.  During the week we invite our residents to daily bible study at lunch and even our nightly worship services.  

The week is more than just a mission trip for high school students.  It is more than a feel good, look at me experience.  It is a chance to encounter God on a new level, away from home and away from the worldly distractions.
